Located in Saline County, Alum Fork Natural Area conserves over a mile of the Alum Fork of the Saline River. It provides habitat for at least four species of concern including the federally listed Arkansas fatmucket (Lampsilis powellii) mussel and two plant species endemic to the Ouachita Mountains. The Nature Conservancy shares ownership of the natural area.

Directions

From Paron (Junction of State Highway 9 and County Road 8001), go south on State Highway 9 for approximately 0.3 miles. Turn right onto Mount Ida Road and travel for 3.7 miles. Turn right onto Weyco Rd. 2400 and travel for 3.3 miles. The natural area is on the right side of the road before the river crossing. (Directions via Google)
